Do You Have Your Own Interior Design Style?
Whether you’re a beginner in or a do-it-yourself fanatic, having your own

interior design style can help you organize, brighten up and decorate a room. Learning the basic

interior design styles can help you determine which elements could fit into a particular room

and which could not.

Since there is a plethora of products for home improvement, everyone has an array of options for

colors, elements, finishes, prices and different products to fit their needs. Because of this,

anyone can express their own interest and styles into a room.

However, the problem with most people is determining what their style is. As a

result, a room becomes cluttered, mix-matched or dull. When this happens, many people become

discouraged and stop decorating their own rooms.

Don’t lose hope just yet, there are simple styles available that you can

integrate into a room you’re working on or become your own style.

Categories Of Styles

The basic styles are casual, formal, contemporary and traditional. If you like

to decorate a room and make it look comfortable and relaxing, a casual style is your best bet.

However, if you wish to decorate a home office and give it a professional taste, go for the

formal style.

If you want the classic or homey style, check out some traditional styles. The

room style may be a duplicate of a room you have seen in a magazine or you could browse through

the internet to have an idea of what kind of traditional styles you prefer. However, if you want

to update a room to make it trendier, you could decorate with the newest trends by going for the

contemporary look.

If you feel

that the basic styles are too simple for your taste, you could dress

a room up by integrating certain influences from other countries. For instance, if you love the

look of a flat apartment in Paris, then design the room with Paris style. You could also choose

from other styles from French, Tuscan, Swedish and other influences to create an

exotic room of your choice.

Another element for a successful style is the colors you would choose. If you

want a formal-styled room, you could go for black and white, browns, pastel colors or other

formal colors. Always match your colors with the style you choose.

When you finish your room project, you’ll see that the room has improved greatly when a theme,

good color combination and the most appropriate style is used.

There are many ways in which you can improve your skills. If you want to learn
